All about Ikkousha Ramen
“Bringing authentic Japanese Ramen to local people” – That’s the goal of Cebu’s Ikkosha Ramen Shop.
Ikkousha Ramen Cebu is one of the franchises of Ikkousha Ramen Japan. And Hakata Ramen is the pride of Fukuoka.
The man behind the Hakata Ikkousha, Kousuke Yoshimura, is very famous in the Ramen Industry in Japan (he is the one in the left photo). He wanted to spread the historical Hakata Ramen to the world, thus opening their first store in Fukuoka, Japan last 2004.
They started last December 2016 and have been the favorite ramen go-to place for both Japanese and Filipinos.
Another authentic Japanese ramen shop with authentic interior design that makes you feel like you are in Japan.
I cannot wait to try and eat these authentic Hakata Ramen!
They have a big display of their menu and best sellers and they also have their menu list in a binder. You can clearly see the authentic ingredients of their ramen and also their delicious side dishes. Don’t you think they’re irresistible?
When you order in Ikkousha Ramen Cebu, the staff will hand you over an order form to check on the items you wanted. This is very personalized and you can customize your preferred texture of noodles, the spiciness of the God Fire ramen, or added extra toppings like egg and onions. This is also a way for no misunderstanding to occur when your order arrives. It will allow both you and the staff to have clear communication on what you will order, making no mistakes, and for the customer to enjoy the perfect Hakata Ikkousha Ramen.

IKKOUSHA RAMEN REVIEW
As expected, the noodles are thin and very delectable. In Japan, the size of the noodles becomes thinner as it goes down south and since Fukuoka, (the origin of Ikkousha ramen) is in the southern part of Japan, it is expected to have thinner noodles.
Ikkousha Ramen’s broth is very creamy and undeniably flavorful. It is believed that their bone broth flavor bubbles are a characteristic of authentic Hakata tonkotsu ramen. The bubbles in the collagen-rich soup release a more delicious flavor as you taste the ramen. The broth/soup is made by simmering pork bone for many hours, making it really appetizing and heavenly!
It’s also affordable compared to other ramen shops with rich authentic flavors of Japan.
Maybe I was expecting much but in my opinion, there were fewer toppings when I ate the Black Tonkotsu. When I finished the noodles and the toppings, there was much broth left. In my opinion, I didn’t finish the broth because it was too oily after eating all the noodles and toppings. I recommend putting their ramen sauce, which was salty or put pepper or chili powder to make the taste perfect.
Here is the review from a Cebuano native (me) and my Japanese native friend, Ken-san.
In every episode, we will review the ramen of every ramen shop we will go to based on the Broth/Soup, Noodles, and Toppings. This is our review of Ikkousha Ramen.
